“It’s the dash that matters” is a quote that my sister and I had been discussing when the necklace came to mind. I was turning 40 in a few days and we were talking about all the things that had happened…so far. She reminded me that those things, the things you do in your life, are the things that matter the most. It’s not when we are born or when we die that matters, it is what we do with the time in between that is most important. I know that I want my dash to be full of things that I have done to make a difference, to make the world a better place. I want my dash to be about my three beautiful girls and amazingly awesome son and the difference I make in their lives. The difference that I have made in people's lives.

The ‘dash’ is about 2 ½ inches long and is hand stamped with the words “It’s the dash that matters” on one side and the other side is hammered to add texture. You can wear it with the words facing out or the words close to your heart. It is sterling silver. The sterling silver chain measures about 18 inches but can be made to any length you would like. They have both been oxidized to bring out the texture and the words.
